We cannot just sit here and certify that 1,800 people go home just like that. What we need to do is to put that in this Bill. That is if the Leader of the Majority Party was genuine in his contribution. That there will be a transition of one year and that some staff are going to be redeployed and re-absorbed in other government institutions and new entities. This is because we are here to protect the interests of the people of Kenya. The people of Kenya start with those 1,800 employees of the NHIF. We cannot just put them under the bus."
