    "content": "“A Member may request for a statement from a Committee Chairperson relating to matters under the mandate of the Committee, which shall be made within twenty- one days of the request or such shorter period as the Speaker may direct.” I stood here on 25th October 2023, and sought for a Statement from the Departmental Committee on Housing, Urban Planning and Public Works. After lengthy deliberations and arguments, the then Speaker who was on the Chair, Hon. Rachael Nyamai, ordered the Deputy Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Owen Baya, to make sure the Chairperson of this Committee brings a statement within two weeks. I want to inform you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, that this is now the fourth week and I have never even seen the Chairperson neither have I received the reply."
