Deputy Speaker, I beg to lay the following Paper on the Table: Addendum to the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on its consideration of the Conflict of Interest Bill (National Assembly Bill No.12 of 2023) tabled on 3rd October 2023. Hon. Deputy Speaker, allow me to draw the attention of Members to the Addendum Report, which I have just tabled, on the Conflict of Interest Bill, which is coming up for Committee of the whole House this afternoon. Many Members of Parliament had issues with the Bill. The Committee has looked at the Bill, clause by clause. There are proposals to amend almost every clause so that it is in consonance with our Constitution and aspirations of Members of Parliament and Kenyans. Get a copy of the Report, read it, and sit through the Committee of the whole House. We do not want to pass laws without the participation of some Members and then we later hear them criticising the same laws. This is a very important law on public servants and we have also taken care of Members of Parliament."
