"content": "(b) My Ministry has already engaged a consultant to review the classification criterion of roads in the country. The consultantâs report is expected to be completed later this year and the recommendations will be used by the Ministry to review the classification of the road network in the country including Pokot Central District. (c) The Ministry is currently preparing a five-year road sector investment plan which is scheduled to be completed in the course of this year. The plan will streamline and address the priorities for road maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading to bitumen standards across the country. Nevertheless, my Ministry is currently graveling a combined length of 41 kilometres of the road (D327) that falls under the original West Pokot District in order to ensure that this road is in a good and motorable condition. I, therefore, wish to say that it will not be possible to give a specific date when we would be able to tarmac this road until the investment programme for the next five years is completed and tabled.
