I would also want to encourage our disciplined forces to have a good relationship with the neighbouring community There is a place in my area called ‘Chepkengen’, where mothers go to fetch firewood from the forest. Recently, I got a report that young officers from the Kenya Forest Service are beating up mothers and other people who go to that forest. That is something that must stop. The officers in the disciplined forces, whether you are police or Kenya Forest Service, must cultivate a good relationship with the neighbouring communities. You cannot beat up mothers who have gone to pick firewood in Chepkengen Forest, Kimothon Forest or any other forest in Endebess. That should never happen. I sympathise with the Hon. Member and ask that the Government looks for a way to act responsibly and compensate those who have been killed in Kamagut. Thank you, Hon. Speaker."
