Temporary Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 6 of the Bill be amended by— (a) inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (h)— “(ha) develop policies, standards, guidelines and promote best practices for the management of conflict of interest.” (b) deleting paragraph (i) The rationale is that we have to empower the EACC with an additional function with regard to conflict of interest matters. Secondly, we have to delete a function already provided for under Section 55 of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, 2003."
