Temporary Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 24 of the Bill be amended in subsection (2)(c) by inserting the words “subject to the provisions of the Access to Information Act, 2016” immediately after the words “public.” The rationale is that this is on reporting conflicts of interest to expressly prescribe the manner in which the register of conflict of interest should be accessible to the public in line with the Access to Information Act, 2016, with the necessary safeguards. It was quite open and so, we felt it may fall into guard hands. We introduced the Access to Information Act, which protects access to information."
