"content": "Furthermore, raising awareness about sharing the road with individuals with disabilities is imperative for both drivers and pedestrians. The driving school curriculum must emphasise the importance of being mindful of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on the road whether visual, hearing or mobility related to help cultivate inclusivity and understanding on the road. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, in June this year, our nation bore witness to a harrowing tragedy marked as one of the deadliest crashes in our history. A horrific road collision at Londiani claimed lives of 55 Kenyans. We cannot idly stand by as these preventable crashes unfold. This is why I am compelled to action, sponsoring amendments to road related legislation including the National Construction Authority (Amendment) Bill; the Traffic (Amendment) Bill; the National Transport and Safety Authority (Amendment) Bill; and, the Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill. I implore the support of this House in passing these Bills when they come to the Floor, as it is crucial to fortify our roads and ensure the safety of our fellow citizens in Kenya."
