"content": "of very serious public interest. This is because the last 8-4-4 students will be joining high school in January. You can only imagine how many they are. We already know the cost of living is high. As we speak about school fees and uniforms, parents should not be told to buy from shops they cannot afford. Parliament is saying that parents should afford buying uniforms for their children. Therefore, the Ministry of Education should ensure that every child has a right to go to school and afford uniform. As a House, we must agree that school uniform should be made affordable to all parents, including those living in the slum areas in Nairobi. Thank you, Hon. Speaker."
