    "content": "The Ministry, through its implementing agency, KeRRA, is carrying out a detailed assessment of the possible locations where there is need to institute speed control measures. This need has arisen from the new development along the road project. The Ministry will undertake the necessary interventions that include erection of road bumps, rumble strips, road safety signage, zebra crossing, among other requirements. This will be done under the current performance-based routine maintenance contract, and continued under our regular maintenance programme. Further, I would like to bring to the attention of the House that the road has enhanced mobility in the catchment areas, leading to significant economic activities, new settlement, population growth and increased development along the road. Therefore, there is need for intense public sensitisation on road usage to the area residents. The Ministry also undertakes to include the project in the forthcoming road safety intervention and programmes, to raise awareness among the residents of this area."
