On the issue of easing travel for athletes, I admit that previously this has been a major challenge for our athletes travelling outside the county. There have been challenges with processing of passports and visa. I am glad to report to the House that the reforms that have been undertaken by this administration in the last one year have greatly eased the process of getting passports. It is now faster and easier, not just for athletes, but for Kenyans generally to access passports. That is something we must really applaud the State Department for Immigration. Specifically, for sports men and women seeking to travel out of the country, the Ministry has made itself available to make interventions anytime that is required. Personally, I intervene pretty much on a daily basis. I can report to this House that sometimes we get passports and visas processed in a period of 12 to 24 hours. I really want to acknowledge the incredible work going on at the State Department of Immigration. The Principal Secretary there, Amb. Bitok, is doing an amazing job. They have been very responsive. Any time we make a request for a sports person going out of the county and we need a passport accelerated, they have been very responsive. I also want to acknowledge the diplomatic missions located here. The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports has built a brilliant relationship with all diplomatic missions here.
