"content": "(Hon. Namwamba): Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I assure this House that the Ministry has developed a very balanced structure to support the whole talent ecosystem. Under the Talanta Hela Programme, we target to develop and monitor talents across all sports disciplines and the whole creative sector. It is only in the last one year, for instance, that we have put money in theatre, film and schools for talent development. I can disclose to this hon. House that for the first time in the history of this country, this fund provided Kshs267 million to support all talents in schools. We funded the Kenya Drama and Film Festival, the Kenya Music Festival and the Kenya term two school’s ball games. The amazing games you saw in Kakamega, the incredible numbers you saw at Bukhungu Stadium, the live broadcast you saw Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and the Kenya school games for the first time in the history of this country were because of Kshs267 million from this fund to support the talent development. In talent development, there is no discrimination. The mantra of the Ministry and Government led by His Excellency (Dr.) William Samoei Ruto is leaving no one behind. Regarding arts, we are deliberate, intentional and structured in making sure that we invest heavily in the development of a creative economy. You have noticed that the President has even restructured this Ministry. It is now called Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports. It is to show the deliberate focus on the creatives. Under creatives, we are targeting everything such as content creators, film, theatre, fine art, performing arts, pageantry, fashion et cetera . Everything under that creative economy is receiving priority and support."
