"content": "of dressing or how people appeared in public. We have lost all that. What we have today in the global world is a multi-cultural or inter-cultural community. It is a community that has lost most of what human beings were probably supposed to gain. It is a community of young people who are indulging in issues that could wait and be done at the right time. They are, therefore, losing out their lives. It is also a community where we have even lost the basic meaning of life. Today, we talk of Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ), and I pause to wonder where it came from. Which culture is that? There is no culture like that. It is lack of adherence to cultural norms and heritage issues that has led us to such confusion. It is, therefore, important for us to enjoy the global world in order to protect our culture and the development of what we used to have. I wonder what we are supposed to do as a people. I want to give an example of my own constituency. In our strategic plan, we have a strategic aim which dwells on culture and heritage. We have set aside a day for each ward to have a cultural and heritage competition, where people bring artefacts and all they used to utilise in the past like the traditional regalia. They present songs and dances and engage in competitions. That competition finally ends up at the constituency level where we have the best performances in terms of the cultural presentations. The artefacts are also defined and we intend to set up a museum that will have our cultural heritage where people will be coming to see the kind of things that used to happen based on the definitions and descriptions that have been made. In other words, it can also help us create employment in a country that needs too many jobs. It can help us open the horizons of job creation in many other ways. As we talk about this issue today, let us think about how much documentation we have. The older generation is dying with the knowledge and institutional memory and yet, we do not have documentation of it. Let us think about it before everyone goes away. Let us document it and then try to practise it as we interpret in our own way. I support the adoption of the Report."
