"content": "I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Health regarding the withheld functions and financial challenges of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Kenya. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) State the challenges, if any, experienced by the national Government in the implementation of the Cancer Prevention and Control Act, No.15 of 2012, specifically relating to the functions and responsibilities of the NCI-Kenya. (2) State measures put in place by the Government to ensure that the NCI-Kenya effectively executes its mandate, including the restoration of its regulatory and oversight functions, outlining the specific functions that have been withheld and the rationale for such actions."
