    "content": "I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Health regarding the undue delay in processing of medical insurance claims for teachers and police officers by the Medical Administrators Kenya Limited (MAKL). In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide details of the medical insurance schemes for teachers and police officers managed by Medical Administrators Kenya Limited (MAKL) indicating the number of respective beneficiaries and panels of medical and healthcare service providers. (2) Report on the criteria for processing claims at MAKL, explaining the delays reported by teachers and police officers in the processing of medical insurance claims. (3) Explain actions taken by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to address the said delays. (4) Outline measures put in place to ensure the timely and efficient processing of medical insurance claims in line with the terms and conditions of the respective schemes.
