    "content": "(3) Enumerate the actions being taken by the Government to ensure peaceful co- existence among road users, including motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians, and dealing strictly with traffic offenders to curb cases of traffic offenses and accidents. The Committee received a response to the Statement from the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport and considered it on Tuesday, 25th April, 2023. The Committee resolved and sought the following supplementary information- The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) should strictly enforce the Traffic Act on miraa transport drivers who contravene the Act. (a) The Ministry of Roads and Transport should engage miraa transporters through their SACCOs and Associations and develop a sensitization programme for compliance of Traffic Act by the mirraa drivers. (b) The Ministry of Roads and Transport to submit a report to the Committee on the implementation of proposed interventions to improve road safety as stated in the response to the Statement. In response to the request sought by Sen. James Kamau Murango, MP, the Committee sought and received a response to the Statement from the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport. At its sitting held on 17th October, 2023, the Committee considered the response to the Statement. It observed that the response was satisfactory and, therefore, concluded the Statement."
