"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I would like to comment on the speech of His Excellency the President. The President has recognised and based himself on the three pillars of Kenya Vision 2030, namely, economic, social and political pillars. In the speech, he recognised the fact that the country is faced with hard times. Tough times call for tough measures. We must cut down the cost of living. What I did not hear, but I am sure is in the speech is the fact that there must be certain deliberate measures to reduce the cost of living in the country. For example, in Parliament one can see flowers that cost up to Ksh5,000 each to set up. Those are the things we need to stop, not only here but in all the ministries. I was very pleased to hear about the approach of the President on corruption. He also talked about State capture. We have never dealt with corruption, but I was so pleased this time that he clarified his stand on it. If we have the Executive’s will, we are going to deal with corruption. We will sort out many issues of corruption."
