    "content": "The other issue that we need to look at is whether inflation is down. It is not. The only inflation that has gone down is food-led. However, non-food items inflation is biting this country hard, starting with the prices of petroleum products. We know that there are challenges in the global economy and the Middle East, which again you were told during the campaign period. At that time, they said that our fuel prices had nothing to do with the problems being experienced in Ukraine and the rest of the world. I do not want to go to that direction because we have talked about it many times. There are solutions that we can use to reduce the price of fuel to under Ksh200 per litre. This is not the right time to increase taxation on petroleum products. However, it was done against the advice of all the leading economists in this country. If I was the President, the first thing I would do is to fire all my economic advisors and the economic team and get fresh ones with fresh minds to advise me appropriately."
