    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.53 (1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the disregard of the conditions of allotment of Msambweni community land in Voi sub- county, Taita Taveta County, to Bata Shoe Company Limited. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain why Bata Shoe Company Limited did not build a factory on the Msambweni community land situated in Voi sub-county, Taita Taveta County, which was allotted to it but instead transferred the lease grant to Sparkle Properties Limited in contravention of the conditions of allotment. (2) Provide a status update on investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) into the transfer of the lease grant for the land. (3) Outline any measures put in place to ensure that residents of Msambweni who occupy the land are not evicted by Sparkle Properties Limited. I thank you.
