    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, we have discussed with the Ministry of Finance the issue of tenant-purchase schemes. We think that if the mortgage period is extended from the present 18 years to 50 years, many Kenyans will be able to afford mortgages or a house on tenant-purchase programme. Once the discussions are concluded, a paper will be prepared for tabling in this House."
