"content": "Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I want to laud Sen. Okenyuri and Sen. Oketch Gicheru for their Statements. The issue raised by Sen. Oketch Gicheru is very serious. In the county governments, the wage bill has grown to Kshs50.82 billion. In the national Government, the wage bill has grown to Kshs1.17 trillion. This is wasteful expenditure in counties where children drop out of school because of lack of uniform, money to pay for lunch, and paltry Kshs12,000 for staying in secondary school. This must be clarified. Finally, Sen. Okenyuri, on the issue of the King; I would like to invite him to come to Malinya not for reparations, but to see the area from which the gold that created The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Director, Hansard and AudioServices, Senate."
