The Regulatory Impact Statement was not required because it is part of the exemptions under the Statutory Instruments Act. We were satisfied that these Regulations comply with the laws of the nation, the Constitution and the Prevention of Terrorism Act that this House passed. The Regulations have been made pursuant to Section 50 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act. With those remarks, I beg to move and request the indomitable Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, Hon. Murugara, to second."
