    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights regarding the assault of a female passenger by a matatu conductor along Thika Road. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide an account of the sequence of events that led to the assault of a female passenger by a matatu conductor along Thika Road Superhighway in a vehicle owned by Bypass Trans on November 29, 2023. (2) Identify the conductor directly implicated in the aforementioned assault, specify the route of operation for the PSV vehicle and confirm whether the conductor is employed by Bypass Trans under which the PSV is registered. (3) Elucidate on the current disciplinary measures applicable to address the misconduct of the perpetrator in relation to gender violence. (4) Detail the appropriate regulations to govern matatu operators, with a view of preventing a recurrence of such incidents in the future. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir."
