    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the grabbing of the Douglas Dam, Karia Ka Dagi, in Tulaga and Muruaki Schemes in Nyandarua County. In the Statement the Committee should- (1) Establish the legal ownership of the parcel of land where the Douglas Dam, Karia Ka Dagi, is situated, clarifying whether there has been change of ownership from public to private and if so, provide relevant documentation including details and the timeline of the transfer. (2) Outline measures, if any, put in place by the Government to safeguard community assets and resources like the Douglas Dam from encroachment, a concerning trend that is becoming prevalent. (3) Disclose the identity of the individuals involved in the grabbing of the said land causing their arrest and prosecution, a deterrent to others intending to engage in similar practices in Nyandarua County and the Nation as a whole. (4) State actions taken by the Government to apprehend and penalize public officers involved in facilitating the encroachment of the dam."
