    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Health on the closure of Nakuru War Memorial Hospital and transfer of patients to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Inform the Senate about the reasons behind the nighttime transfer of patients from the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital on 28th October, 2023, considering that some patients, who are on life support, the constitutional rights to privacy and access to quality health care as outlined as the Bill of rights were violated. (2) Explain the reason for the prolonged closure of the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital and the control of the premises by the county security officials, despite a Court Order No.36 of 23, stopping the County Government of Nakuru from taking over the management of the hospital, pending the determination of the dispute on the management of the hospital. (3) State plans, if any, by the county government to compensate the hospital for losses incurred during the forceful closure and illegal occupation of its premises. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir."
