Deputy Speaker, one of the cardinal doctrines of the kind of the Westminster Parliament we have for democracy is the will of the Majority Party and the right for the Minority Party to be heard. We say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This happens in many democracies. It is not unique to just us. When there is a tyranny of the majority, the tendency is to steamroll everything. That does not bring out the finer aspects of democracy such as debates and philosophies behind some of these things, and other very good ideas.
