    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Chairlady. My weight on this matter is that, the proposal by Hon. Nyikal is not workable. As per the provisions of the Constitution, we need a common denominator that is equitable, balanced, fair and is applicable across the board. If we base the Levy on the net salary, it will be discriminative because we cannot be equal in terms of deductions. So, the proposed amendment should not stand. Instead, we should go to the original position of basic deductions based on the gross salary. That will cut across in an equal manner. Thank you."
