"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. Let me take this opportunity to sincerely thank our able Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee for moving the Report and presiding over the many endless sittings in Room 9 and other venues as we probed and reviewed the various books of accounts for various Ministries, Departments and State Agencies. One of the roles bestowed on the National Assembly under the Constitution of Kenya 2010 is oversight of national revenue and its expenditure. Consequently, it is the history of Parliaments that there must be a public accounts committee that performs that job. We have done our bit today; we have presented the Report of the Auditor-General on the Financial Statements of various National Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies for the 2020/2021 Financial Year. Article 203(3) provides that the amount referred to in clause 2 shall be calculated based on the most recent audited accounts of revenue received as approved by the National Assembly. Once this Report is approved by this House, in the Financial Year 2024/2025, we shall probably use the most recent The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor"
