    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Baringo County is 68 per cent arid and semi-arid. We are blessed as a county to have Lake Baringo in our county, which is a freshwater lake. As the leadership of Baringo County, we had presented a proposal to the Ministry, that we can utilise that water from Lake Baringo, take it up upstream and irrigate a bigger chunk of land, which will help Baringo North, Baringo South and Tiaty in terms of irrigation. Mr. Speaker, Sir, you will recall when the former Cabinet Secretary appeared here, she confirmed that they were planning to irrigate about 60,000 acres of land. I want the Cabinet Secretary to confirm to this House, how far they have gone in that planning because it will boost our food production as a county and sort out the current situation of insecurity, which is really affecting that area."
