    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 53 (1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism regarding the collapse of Malakisi Cotton Ginnery in Sirisia Constituency, Bungoma County. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the circumstances that led to the collapse of Malakisi Cotton Ginnery in Sirisia Constituency, Bungoma County. (2) Outline any steps taken by the Government to revive the said ginnery clarifying whether any budgetary allocation for the same has been made in the current financial year. (3) State any other initiatives implemented by the Government to revitalize and sustain the cotton industry in Kenya, particularly in Bungoma, Busia and Kisumu counties where the industry has faced significant challenges.
