    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism regarding the operations of Ewaso Ngiro Tannery and Leather Factory in Narok County. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Report on the operations of the Ewaso Ngiro Tannery and Leather Factory in Narok County, stating its annual budget, yearly production capacity and volume, as well as the market demand for its products. (2) Explain how the tannery actively involves the local communities in its operations, highlighting the tannery recruitment process and the percentage of the workforce drawn from the Maasai Community. (3) Provide details of the availability and origin of the equipment and raw materials utilised in the tannery, indicating the proportion that is sourced from the locality; and, (4) Inform the Senate of the environmental implications of the tanning and waste disposal process, clearly outlining measures put in place to mitigate any environmental risks and hazards."
