    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I beg to move that the Natural Resources (Benefit Sharing) Bill, (Senate Bill No.6 of 2022), be now read a Second Time. Hon. Temporary Speaker, I want to start by advising the House that this is a Private Member’s Bill from the Senate, that was brought by Senator Mungatana of Tana River County. The Bill went through First Reading on 17th August 2023 and was thereafter, committed to the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry, Climate Change and Mining, for consideration and reporting in the House, pursuant to the provisions of the National Assembly Standing Order 143. In accordance with Article 118 (1)(b) of the Constitution and Standing Order 127(3), the Committee sought views from the public by way of written memoranda and further conducted public participation hearings on the same Bill.
