"content": "Hon. Speaker, today being the eve of International Women’s Day 2024, which is normally commemorated on 8th of March every year, our hearts resonate with this year’s theme: “Inspire Inclusion” which underscores the profound significance of recognising and valuing women’s contributions. When we inspire others to appreciate the diverse tapestry of women’s achievements, we weave a better world - one where every voice matters. Our journey towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment is deeply rooted in Kenya’s constitutional fabric. The 2010 Constitution embodies the collective aspirations of Kenyans for good governance, emphasising that sovereign power belongs to the people. It is a living document: a covenant that binds us to uphold justice, equality and fairness. Within its pages lies the promise of equal participation for all regardless of gender.
