"content": "WHEREAS, the National Assembly and the Senate, on Wednesday, 16th August, 2023 and Tuesday, 29th August, 2023, respectively, considered and passed a resolution on the establishment of a NADCO, which was mandated to facilitate dialogue and consensus building and recommend appropriate constitutional, legal and policy reforms on issues of concern to the people of Kenya, to be framed by the Committee; AND WHEREAS, the National Assembly and Senate, by resolutions passed on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023, and Wednesday, 18th October, 2023, respectively, extended the mandate of the NADCO by a further 30 days from 28th October, 2023 consequently to which the Committee would report to the leadership of Kenya Kwanza and Azimio Coalitions on or before 26th November, 2023 and thereafter submit its Report to Parliament; FURTHER WHEREAS, the National Assembly, by a resolution passed on Thursday, 22nd February, 2024, adopted the Report of the National Dialogue Committee, laid on the Table of the National Assembly on Thursday, 7th December, 2023; NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order No. 41(1) of the National Assembly Standing Orders, I hereby convey the said Resolution of the National Assembly to the Senate for consideration.’’ Hon. Senators, as you may be aware, the Senate, by a resolution passed on Wednesday, 21st February, 2024, during the afternoon sitting, also adopted the Report of the National Dialogue Committee laid on the Table of the Senate on Wednesday, 14th February, 2024. This decision was communicated to the National Assembly vide a Message dated 23rd February, 2024. I thank you. Hon.
