    "content": "During the fiscal year 2008/2009, the Ministry initiated the preparation of a national land use policy and national land use plan and developed draft concept papers. The national land use policy will be the basis upon which the national land use plan will be developed to guide physical development programmes for the next 50 years and beyond as outlined in the Kenya Vision 2030. The national land use plan will guide the preparation of regional and local physical development plans. In this regard, the Ministry has initiated the preparation of regional physical development plan for northern Kenya covering North Eastern Province, northern parts of Rift Valley and Eastern Province. In addition, the Ministry commenced preparation of physical development plans for two resort cities; that is, Diani and Ukunda and Kilifi. It also prepared 20 local development plans and initiated preparation of long-term physical development plan for Kisumu City to guide development in the next 50 years."
