Oketch Gicheru, junior schools across the country currently have an enrolment of 2,279,052 learners in Grade Seven and Grade Eight. Of course, as we know, in the old system of 8-4-4, we had classrooms in Standard Seven and Standard Eight, which as of now, they have transitioned to Senior School, which is our secondary school. So, as far as the Grade Seven and Grade Eight are concerned, we do not have a problem of classrooms. The Ministry has also done a needs assessment and determined that we have a shortage of 15,021 classrooms for those who will be transitioning into Grade Nine next"
