    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support this Petition. This is a very straightforward matter. I hope the Committee concerned will not spend a lot of time on this. It is a matter involving a court process that gave an order and the order has not been implemented by the responsible agencies. Secondly, we encourage investors in this country, but let them not take advantage of our people to either take their land or do strange things to them. We had a similar petition with this particular company, Kwale International Sugar Company (KISCO), in the 12th Parliament, but on matters touching on labour rights of the workers of this company. I am among the Members who went to that company and saw the deplorable conditions in which the workers of this company live in. We are now being told that they have been involved in land grabbing. So, as the Committee looks at this matter, they also need to tell us more about the activities of this company. I think we have limitations in the Standing Orders. We want to have a situation where the report emanating from a Petition is debated in this House so that when we come up with very specific recommendations, they are implemented and not just the tabling that we do at the moment.
