"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the Mbotela and Shauri Moyo Estates, we are coming up with various projects there because the land is large and the number of people living in those houses--- The hon. Senator will agree with me that those houses do not hold a total of 2,000 or 3,000 people. When you look at the entire land, and what we can do with affordable housing, then that would be putting the land into better use. This is because, the Ministry manages the land and land use is under my docket. Therefore, this Monday and last week, my teams from the Ministry and Department of Housing visited these places and there is an agreement. I have been advised that the residents are now in agreement and we are extending the notice to October or November. We have also agreed that we shall facilitate relocation to the people affected by the projects. It is a small amount of money and His Excellency the President has expressed himself on that. The Ministry provides some little amount of money for relocation. You can pay your rent depending on the agreement in each place and between six and one year, we are able to provide the rent for a similar house - noting that many of them are paying rent where they are. They have told us how much rent they are paying and we will give that for six months. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, there is an agreement and the notice will be extended and will be in writing. I thank you."
