    "content": "Currently, we are using heavy diesel turbines under emergency power plants which are very expensive. They are not environmentally friendly because the diesel engines make noise. We, as a country, are using that as a short term measure. As a long term measure, we intend to tap in our renewable energy. That is why we, as a Ministry, have formed a new company Geothermal Development Company under the Energy Act of 2006 which will do the feasilibility study on the generation of geothermal. KenGen alone cannot do so. So we formed that company which will be funded 100 per cent by the Exchequer."
