Regarding the duration of time that bodies and documents should be kept, the hospital discusses a plan with the family and once an agreement is reached, the bodies or documents are released to the family. However, we will investigate the specific cases where there have been prolonged delays and work with the hospital to address them. On the cost of treatment, the Ministry has shifted focus from curative nature to primary health care. Primary health care ensures that we focus on the prevention of the diseases and thus, is a cost-effective approach. The Ministry has also collaborated with local manufacturers to reduce the costs associated with imported health products, commodities and technologies. The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KeMSA) has implemented the local manufacturing policy, and almost 50 percent of the items are now being sourced locally. I submit."
