    "content": "pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee regarding the delay in the disbursement of monies by the National Treasury to various ministries. Every year, the National Assembly plays a crucial role in approving the annual budget and ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately to support the provision of essential services to citizens of this country. It is imperative to note that Government revenue is largely derived from taxes on the people. In this regard, the public rightfully expects efficient and expedient services that benefit them directly from the Government. These services include health, education, security, and transport. Regrettably, it is noted that the National Treasury has delayed the disbursement of funds to certain ministries, including the Ministry of Roads and Transport. Undeniably, the condition of our roads plays a significant role in ensuring road safety and contributing to the movement of goods and services within our country. The delay in the disbursement of funds for road construction and repair within the country threatens to exacerbate the surge in tragic road accidents that have continued to afflict the country. Hon. Temporary Speaker, the urgency of this matter cannot be overstated as these delays impede the timely completion of critical infrastructure initiatives, and it is imperative that this matter be promptly addressed.
