This Authority will be responsible for co-ordination of drought management in the entire nation in a very holistic way. As it is today, many Ministries co-ordinate those activities in their dockets. For example, the Ministry of Sate for Special Programmes is responsible for famine relief. The Ministry of Water and Irrigation is responsible for water-related activities in its own docket. The Ministry of Education is responsible for the School Feeding Programme in schools in ASALs. The Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security is responsible for security.
