"content": "This law has not said what will happen to the currently existing department. Will the Act dealing with that be repealed? If so, how many Acts of Parliament will be repealed? Will they be split into two or what will happen because there is a law existing? Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, this is clearly over legislation, unnecessary and waste of public resources. I do not support it. I urge other reasonable members of the society like Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale to reject it, so that we can do the right thing and save Kenyans’ funds. Let us do the right amendments to the right law to make it better and fund the meteorological department, which has served Kenyans very well so far. I thank you and oppose."
