    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to comment on the statement by Sen. Mbugua on the status of the tourism sector. This sector brings high levels of income to the country amounting to close to over Kshs400 billion. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we faced challenges as a country together with many other countries across the world. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, narrowing back to our country, you realise we have hotels which have shut down, for example, the Hilton, Intercontinental, Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) and Mombasa Beach Hotel. This has led to unemployment and many other challenges that come with the same. At the same time issues of lost investments comes up. I do not know what is happening with the Intercontinental Hotel, which was closed. We would like to know who the current owner is and the way forward."
