    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53 (1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries regarding the shortage of wheat seeds in the country. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the current shortage of wheat seeds in most retail and wholesale stores in the country. (2) State any Government interventions aimed at addressing the shortage immediately to ensure farmers can plant according to their schedules. (3) Outline measures put in place to prevent a recurrence of such shortages in the future and to guarantee a consistent and reliable supply of seeds in the country. This is because there has been a shortage of wheat and maize seeds in the past."
