"content": "I ask the MPs to humble themselves and listen to what people are saying. If you have been listening, we have mothers on the streets pleading with the President and us to listen to them. What does it cost for us to listen to them? Those who used ambulances were abusing our position as MPs. The ambulances should have been carrying those who were sick and not getting MPs out of precincts of Parliament. We need to smell the coffee. We need to schedule special sessions to invite the Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security, Hon. (Prof.) Kindiki to find out why they used bullets on young people. We also need to summon the Cabinet Secretary for Defenc, Hon. Duale, if he actually issued that Gazette notice. This Parliament no longer cares about the Constitution of Kenya. As Sen. Omogeni said, we should instruct the Speaker to write an advisory to the President not to assent to the Finance Bill because it breached the Constitution. Through the Finance Bill, they amended laws that affect counties. Therefore, the Finance Bill should have come to the Senate. This House should instruct lawyers to go to court and stop the Finance Bill. We cannot do that if we take a break. This Senate should find out how best we can reach out to Gen Zs to speak with them. They gave a notice for Thursday. Assuming they are coming on Thursday, this House should be present to ask if we can have Thursday demonstrations done differently, so that we receive them as they come peacefully. We should not run away. This House should find out how many of us can be sent to represent the Senate in the different funerals of children who have died. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I suggest respectfully that we consider reorganising the programme of the House to discuss these pertinent issues that have been raised by these children. We need to look at the budget that the National Treasury submitted to the National Assembly. These children looked at the budget. They are telling us that we should not overtax their parents and put money to different places. Why are we, as Parliament, not willing to look at the budget items to find out what these children are telling us? The Gen Zs are not stupid. They are trying to call us to order as MPs. I think we have an inflated sense of importance that we have even forgotten who we are. We need to calm down and remember we are messengers of the people. I, therefore, suggest to Members who will speak; please do not allow us to go on recess. Let us have our sittings and summon the necessary people we need to discuss about what happened yesterday. Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I finalise, I empathize with all families that lost their loved ones. As MPs, let us find out who they are. Let us represent ourselves and be humble enough to mourn with those families. I also ask Cabinet Secretary, Hon. (Prof.) Kindiki, to ensure that all the young people he has instructed to be abducted are released. More than 10 young people have been abducted simply because they are bloggers. That is an abuse of office and a violation of the right of expression and this must stop now. We must be a country that respects the rule of law---"
