(a) What is the extent of the Government’s involvement in the operational matters of Kenya Airways, specifically regarding protection and welfare of staff? (b) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide details of Kenya Airways staff who have lost their employment as a result of redundancies and retrenchments since 2010 and explain what necessitated the workforce reductions? (c) Was the procedure followed during the exercise lawful, and could the Cabinet Secretary indicate whether all benefits due to the affected staff were paid? (d) How many retrenchment cases by the organisation have been found to be against the law, and could the Cabinet Secretary state the number of retrenched staff re- employed by Kenya Airways, if any, and what informed the decision? (e) What impact has court pronouncements through judgements had on job redundancies and retrenchment policy, practices and the attendant send-off package at Kenya Airways?
