"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues and even the Official Responder from the Ministry of Education. It is loud and clear that this is a worrying trend. We are talking about 99.8 per cent of pupils and students who are in public schools in this country. Kenya is sitting on a time bomb. It is going to be a very serious issue. I am happy that most of the Members have come out very clearly on this issue. I also wish to thank the Member who has moved an amendment. It is going to check on quality assurance of our education in this country. The teachers in our public schools should do their job properly. We should have motorbikes going round the primary and secondary schools in the constituencies to check on the kind of education that is being offered in our schools. We want all Kenyans to access quality education. Having thanked the Members who have contributed, I wish also to say that there are some challenges. One of the Members talked about Rwanda and stated that all the secondary schools students have laptops. That is a challenge. Kenya counts herself superior to other countries, but can we also prove it in the education sector? The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has done marvelous things on the ground and it is only 2.5 per cent of the Budget of this country. If just 0.5 per cent of our Budget is allocated to the education sector, that would improve the quality of our education. I wish to donate two minutes of my time to hon. Kabando wa Kabando and two minutes to hon. Affey---"
