    "content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, the proposals relating to Excise Duties, Value Added Tax, Income Tax and Miscellaneous Fees and Taxes contained in the Financial Statement for the year of Account 2009/2010 be approved. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, His Excellency the President has signified his consent to this Motion. The taxation measures I have proposed are aimed at stimulating growth, protecting jobs, reducing poverty and, indeed, enhancing food security while protecting the poor. As I mentioned in my Budget Speech, this is reflective of our commitment to restoring the economy back to a higher growth path in order to expand economic opportunities, create jobs and improve the standards of living of our people."
