He came to the Speaker's Chamber, and I called the Clerk to join me and he said many of the things he has said here. He said he went to church, was overwhelmed by the presence of a hostile crowd and he said what he said. The Holy Book — the Bible — says the beginning of healing lies in the acknowledgement of wrongdoing, which he has acknowledged. It also says the greatest word in human relationship is the small word ‘sorry’, which he has said."
